The stopping off point is the LTD.
Because of course it is.

I went to the worm hole a while back while in Detriot, the Ford Piquette Ave Plant were the Model T was developed & all models before it were made. A tour there takes way past the bottom of the worm hole.

I think there’s a Wikipedia article for the generic “Full-Size Ford”, which, I guess starts with the T, although I believe it was actually smaller than the current Focus.

I love that new Taurus, I understand why it won’t be sold here but I’m still bummed about it

Some of the cars along the way are surprising...
It made me wonder about my Focus and it appears that it runs out at the Ford Pinto when going back in time. I feel like they jumped classes, though, as I think mine should actually follow back to the original Falcon or possibly the Maverick via the Escort (which would make a lot of sense, considering how much DNA mine shares with compact Mazdas). Although when you count the trim level (ST) as being effectively just a related car to the base model, the line only goes back to the EXP.

The Focus (current compact) really should stretch back to the Falcon (Ford’s first compact). The Pinto was considered a subcompact when it was new, so really it would be the predecessor of the Fiesta.
The Falcon was only a few inches longer than the current Focus, and I believe it had a slightly shorter wheelbase, so it would still be solidly in the compact class, even by modern standards.

The new Taurus is seriously fantastic looking. I don’t get why Ford couldn’t just ship them here from China. Well, I would guess that our unique FMVSS regulations play at least some role.

I think it should have been the new Falcon—lines up perfectly.

Wikipedia is all screwed up when it comes to compact Fords. Somehow they jump from Tempo to Contour, then from Contour (which is claimed compact in some places and mid-size in others) to Taurus?!
I think the line is Falcon->Maverick->Fairmont/Granada->Tempo(/Escort?)->Contour->Focus.
